What is New Hope Community Outreach Inc.?
New Hope Community Outreach is a nonprofit community-based corporation dedicated to improving the social and economic conditions of all people who live or work in Jones and the surrounding counties.
When did the organization get started?
The New Hope Community Outreach (NHCO), incorporated in 1998.
Is New Hope Community Outreach Inc. recognized by the IRS?
Yes New Hope Community Outreach Inc. non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service, and all donations are tax deductible.
How does NHCO operate?
The corporation is governed by seven (7) individuals from the community who make up the Board of Directors. The board is in charge, and directly accountable for the overall direction and policies of New Hope Community Outreach Inc. Powers are given to the board by the Articles of Incorporation. Members of the board are motivated by a desire to serve the community and the personal satisfaction of volunteering. The board members do not receive monetary compensation for serving on the board.
What is the mission of NHCO?
The mission of New Hope Community Outreach Inc is to reach out and embrace, to promotethe health and well-being and empower the people of Jones and the surrounding counties.
What is the role of the Board Chair?
The board chair’s role is central to coordinating the work of the board, executive director and committees.
What is the role of the Executive Director?
The executive director is ultimately responsible to carry out the wishes of the board. The executive director is directly accountable for the work of the staff and supports the work of the board committees.
What is the role of the Staff?
The Staff reports to the executive director and may support the work of the committees.
What is the role of the Volunteers?
Volunteers are unpaid personnel who assist staff, serve on committees and generally work under the direction of the executive director.
What are some of the key programs of NHCO?
Our programs are designed to inspire young people to work, hope and plan for a fulfilling future despite the challenges they face living in disadvantaged communities. Our goal is to teach them how to transform their challenges into opportunities by demonstrating and encouraging alternatives to negative behaviors through modeling, education, and physical/mental activities.
